I was in Senegal in June and July of 2008. During my stay,I talked to many friends and relatives about my experience working with children in Africa and later in the United States. I told them about my vision of professional interventions contributing to the welfare of children and the need for an organization that would support children and their families. We agreed on setting up the "Association for the promoton and Social Welfare of Children and Families in Africa". I was elected President of the association. The purposes of the organization are:
-promoting children as individuals with specific characteristics and attributes
-promoting and supporting families rights and responsibilities.
-insuring that the social welfare of children and families in Senegal and Africa is guaranted and protected.
These goals will be reached through educational programs; components of these programs will be supported by applied social research findings. The resources of the association will be composed of membership fees and contributions, and also the financial and in-kind support of individuals who share our vision.
Its headquarter is located in DAKAR-SENEGAL.

This is an opportunity for anyone who shares professional, cultural, social and just ethical principles with me, to present her/his views on a variety of issues we are facing in our work, and social lives. We will also discuss any opposing points of views.
